SPECIAL MONDAY NIGHT FLIGHT - Gwenaëlle Croix / Pépière + Mélanie Tarlant / Champagne Tarlant + Marie Luneau / Lunea-Papin

Monday night, don’t miss three amazing vigneronnes, pouring their superb wines: Gwenaëlle Croix, Mélanie Tarlant, Marie Luneau! Join us at bar at Racines at 7 pm to enjoy some fantastic expression of Muscadets & Champagnes!

Since 1984, Domaine de la Pépière has been producing delicious Muscadet, harvesting by hand and fermenting with wild yeasts, with conversion to organic and biodynamic farming, quickly becoming a leader in quality in the region. The new cuvée, Cru Communal Gorges, is from the outstanding 2014 vintage and was produced from old vines on Gabbro. It was aged 42 months on the lees and is now showing beautifully - for current drinking or long-term aging. Gwenaëlle will also pour the 2015 Clisson, to give more perspectives on the different soils expression through the lense of the Crus Communaux.

For many generations, Domaine Luneau-Papin has been one of the very top domaines of Muscadet, producing pure, vibrant wines from their terroirs of schist, gneiss, granite and serpentine. Marie will pour two new arrivals: the great 2014 "L d'Or" from granite soils and the 2017  "Terre de Pierre" from serpentine soils on the unique rocky Butte de la Roche.

Champagne Tarlant consists of 14 hectares of vines spread far and wide over 55 parcels of Pinot Noir (50%), Chardonnay (30%) and Pinot Meunier (20%). Small amounts of Champagne's "forgotten"grapes" -Pinot Blanc, Arbanne and Petit Meslier - are also planted. In the vines, chemicals are never used and biodiversity is prioritized. The big particularity of the Tarlant Champagnes is that the vast majority of the production (80%) is bottled without dosage. In such, the house's entry level cuvées sport a Zéro labeling to them: the base Zéro is the Tarlant's calling card, and consists of a non vintage, no dosage wine made equal parts Pinot Noir, Meunier and Chardonnay. Zéro Rosé is a majority of Chardonnay with a bit of still Pinot Noir for color. Cuvée Louis is their homage to great, great grandfather Louis Tarlant and the top of the top from Tarlant's single vineyard offerings: Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from a single parcel of 65 year old vines (originally planted by Louis himself!) called Les Crayons, vinified and aged in oak.
